Recognizing Excellence Across the Battery Industry

Each year, Battery Council International recognizes the individuals, organizations, and innovations making meaningful contributions to the battery industry.

The BCI Convention + Power Mart Expo brings the industry together to celebrate these achievements and recognize the recipients of BCI’s Innovation Award, Amplify Awards, and Distinguished Service Award.

BCI Innovation Award

Recognizing Ideas That Advance the Industry

The BCI Innovation Award, in honor of Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz, recognizes advancements in battery technology, equipment, processes, services, and products.

Submissions are evaluated across areas including sustainability, safety, cost, performance, uniqueness, and value, with the annual winner announced during the BCI Convention + Power Mart Expo.

2026 Winner
Hollingsworth & Vose

Hollingsworth & Vose received the 2026 BCI Innovation Award for its Glass Electrode Material (GEM) technology, developed in partnership with ArcActive. The technology is designed to improve charge acceptance, battery performance, durability, and cycle life.

BCI Amplify Awards

Recognizing Excellence in Industry Communications

The BCI Amplify Awards recognize effective campaigns, programs, and communications that inform, educate, and promote battery technologies and the battery industry.

Awards are presented in two categories:

  1. Product Marketing recognizes outstanding commercial marketing and communications.
  2. Industry Leadership recognizes communications that reflect the core values and priorities of the battery industry.

Clarios — Recognized for the relaunch of Autobatteries.com, an education-focused resource designed to help consumers better understand automotive batteries and make informed decisions.

Baterias Moura — Recognized for its work communicating the importance of battery recycling and its role in supporting a secure and circular energy future.

BCI Distinguished Service Award

Honoring Meaningful Contributors to the Battery Industry

Established in 1945, the BCI Distinguished Service Award is BCI’s highest individual honor

The award recognizes individuals who have made sustained, long-term, and meaningful contributions to BCI and the battery industry through their leadership, service, and commitment.

2026 Recipient
Donna Snyder

Donna Snyder, retired Vice President of Marketing/Advertising at East Penn Manufacturing, received the 2026 Distinguished Service Award in recognition of more than four decades of industry leadership and service.

A founding member of the BCI Marketing Committee in 2009, Snyder played an important role in advancing BCI’s industry communications and member marketing efforts
