As the nation’s electric grid evolves toward a greater share of power generation from decarbonized sources, this opens new opportunities for energy storage to meet increasingly critical system requirements.
The U.S. Department of Energy has developed and implemented a series of programs designed to help the domestic storage industry respond to these changing needs. These programs include the Energy Storage Grand Challenge (ESGC), Storage Innovations 2030, the Rapid Operational Validation Initiative (ROVI), the National Consortium for Long Duration Energy Storage (NCLDES) and the Grid Storage Launch Pad (GSLP).
BCI is pleased to participate in these programs.
To describe these important programs is a panel comprised of storage experts from three national laboratories with deep knowledge and expertise. The panelists are Vince Sprenkle of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Sue Babinec of Argonne National Laboratory and Will McNamara of Sandia National Laboratory.
