CleanTech Strategies
Russ is President of CleanTech Strategies, a team of five subject matter experts drawing on many decades of industry experience and JD, PE and EE professional training. We’re experts in energy storage, power electronics, microgrids, renewables and advanced materials. Our customers include energy storage system and subsystem developers, U.S. national labs, non-governmental organizations (NGO’s), accredited conference companies and national consulting firms.
Russ Weed is a business and project developer, revenue acquirer, legal manager, and advisor. He has deep and diverse experience in start-ups, mid-market companies, conglomerates and law firms. This includes 22 years of work in business and legal positions with private and public companies, and 10 years as a commercial and litigation attorney, working widely in North America, Europe and Asia.
In 2018, Russ established CleanTech Strategies LLC, headquartered in Seattle, Washington. In 2022-23, he proposed the creation of the Flow Battery Industry Group (FBIG) and collaborated with flow battery developers and other stakeholders to establish FBIG as a part of the long-standing Battery Council International (BCI) trade association. Russ is also active in the development of products and companies providing mechanical and thermal energy storage. He is an early and strong advocate of the utility of segmenting the stationary energy storage market into short, medium, long, and seasonal needs.
